I don´t really get it. I have it all set up, but I dunno how to get tyhe news on the site I want.

As I could remember, problem is in pictures.php not in gallery.php so I´m sending you this file. Hope it helps.

Hi, Recently I install phpNewsManager & phpWebMagazine and I have some problems.

1.- Can´t add categories, If I select add category only see category name & image, any submit buttom. This happend with weather.

2.- Error message when I want add a picture

Any help?

Before you upload the files of newman and webmagazine to your webspace:
open them all in your editor.
Why?
To fix some errors/typos.
I use ConText to edit php files.
Find: gid
Replace by: id
Find: thumbnail
Replace by: picture
There are about ten errors.
In the partners.php is a typo:
patrner has to be partner

Now upload newman (all files in the folder: newman) and run install.

If succesfull: delete install.

Now ftp from your webspace to your computer the db.inc.php file
This file has to go in the webmagazine folder.
Open the db.inc.php file.
Look at the gallery path url
$gallery_url = "./newman/gfx/gallery/";
look if after gallery there is the /
change the root ./ to ../
$gallery_url = "../newman/gfx/gallery/";

Now upload webmagazine.
(all files in the folder: webmagazine)
In your root you have the folders newman and webmagazine.
If you open your siteadres followed by webmagazine and you cannot see
the uploaded images change the db.inc.php file.
You can use the full http path:
$gallery_url = "[LINK]";
if this does not work:
$gallery_url = "../newman/gfx/gallery/";

In newman [LINK]
you edit your content, storys, images, items and so on.
It is you manager.
You can allow other people to update and add items and news.
Newman is not the public part.

Webmagazine is what people see: your news and images.

Now if it is running you can give webmagazine your own layout.
Center the page, own logo and so on.
But do not use the original files to edit.
Copy all the files in a new folder on your computer and use these to
edit. If you mess it up, you still have have your original files.

If you are new to php find some tutorials, so you can understand what the
code means and what is where.

Hi Jan,

you have to edit these files
header.php
newman_lib.php
index.php
to give it the layout you want.

I heve renamed it to
header2.php
newman_lib2.php
index2.php

Still testing around.

good day to all.
i would like to use ur newman for our academic site. i dowloaded ur PHPmanager zip file and extracted it and uploaded in our webserver. since there is no Readme in there, i automatically executed install.php inn the newman folder. i also chmod 666 db.inc.php and entered the necesaary data required (username & password.) but after i presed the button,nothing happens. could u please giv me a detailed step on how to properly set up the newman? what should i do with my problem?

You have to create the database newman in MySQL,
chmod 755 the Install script, then run it

i have tried it already,i created the newman in mySQL in our webserver and no problem with it., and chmod 666 db.inc.php and chmod 755 install.php, how ever, when i tried again to execute the intall.php in the web and enterd my username and password, stil, it returns to the login page.
is there anything that i missed? i have tried installing scripts in this manner so many times, are they are all ok, but i dnt knw y this thing is not succesful with me.
