Well, the gold part basically means "striving" in the sense of achieving higher moral standards.

The background is a verse from the Qu´ran (49:13) and it reads: "O humankind! We created you from a single pair of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other not that ye may despise each other."

And the top left bit is a so-called Bismillah which translates to "In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful". Bismillah occurs at the head of every chapter (surah) in the Qu´ran. Happy
