I really love this piece. I tend to be extremely picky about what I´ll use for a wallpaper, and I like to think I only save the best of the best. This fits that category.
A few comments, which are not criticisms:
The title that came to mind when I saw this was "Impossible Rainbow." It fits the metaphor implied in the art quite well, I think.
The ONLY thing that could improve this, for me personally, would be some silhouetted tropical foliage mixed in with the rest. For those of who live in the South, it would ring closer to home.
Regardless -- this is one of the few selections I´ve enjoyed recently. Thanks for sharing it. I grow tired of endless fractals and XP themes...

"plethora of rules" in the Readme file? ... You´re probably talking about the "Terms of use and copyrights" , which I´ve copy- pasted from the Aston site - theme tutorial. Since I´m new to this field (as you should have noticed) , I wasn´t sure about the best way to write a "readme file" which includes a copyright note, so I´ve checked the tutorial from the Aston site.
Considering that english is not my native language and that those guys from Aston thmeme are for sure better than me in those sort of things, I´ve included the coyright model they´ve provided in my readme file.
With that said, if you have a problem with the copyright notes, don´t use this theme (I wonder though how come that you´re using Aston... they have a copyright note also...)
If "having or not a copyright note" is what you have in mind when you choose a theme, and not the theme´s quality, then yes, you shouldn´t use this theme.
