CarbonCap 1.3 updated the lightweight screenshot utility with fixes for fullscreen game captures and modifier-key behavior when taking screenshots.
CarbonCap 1.3 was released as an update to the lightweight screenshot utility from Carbon6Studios.
The new version focused mainly on bug fixes, especially around fullscreen capture behavior. One important fix addressed fullscreen mode when taking screenshots of fullscreen games, making the tool more useful for users who wanted to capture game screens without interrupting play.
CarbonCap 1.3 also fixed a bug where using the ALT key as part of a modifier could cause the application to capture only the active window instead of the intended screenshot target.
CarbonCap was designed to stay small, fast, and easy to use. It could sit on the desktop or in the system tray and wait for hotkey activation, allowing users to capture screenshots in the background while they continued working or playing.
For the Skinbase community, CarbonCap was part of the same freeware skinnable utility family as CarbonNotes and CarbonAlarm. It reflected the early 2000s desktop customization culture well: simple tools, practical features, and a focus on lightweight usability.
