dragonmage: actually there´s one thing in rainmeter´s transparency setiings which is a lot better than sysmetrix: In rainmeter, you define transparency one by one for each element. So the background can be "very transparent", while the characters are fully readable. In sysmetrix you set a system-wide transparency, which makes the text also pale.
