By rrunnerI have seen some textual system information on a winxp desktop, no wallpaper, blue background color, white characters. I couldn't find that software that did it, I still dunno what was that.
Still I started to search for skinnable system information apps, and first I found sysmetrix, which is also brilliant, but since I'm into textual infos, I prefer the transparency of rainmeter to the mailchecker, winamp controls, all bells and whistles above a bitmap in sysmetrix.
This skin goes well with any blueish wallpaper, or I guess with anything not too bright.
There are some things to tune to your system in the ini, but you don't need to be a rocket-scientist to perform.
The needed modifications are in the readme, but anyway, here they are:
1.)In [MeasureIP], [MeasureGateway], [MeasureDNS]
you might have to set SysInfoData to 0, or 1 or 2 according to your HW config.
2.)In [MeasureNetIn]
you need to set NetInSpeed=512000 to your nominal max. bandwith. Given in bps.
3.)In [Metermem.txt]
total memory is not measured, but set in the ini to a fix value, set it to your memory.
4.)In [MeterDiskFreeCsize.txt]
total disk size is set to a fix value, set it to your disk size.

Could this style have been replicated in Sysmetrix?
Good clean cut and easy to understand skin.
Nice one!

Peanut779: Very funny, actually this is a replica of a skin I made for sysmetrix 1 half a year ago.
The reason why this is better, is that sysmetrix handles solid bitmaps, which can´t be set to be translucent.
It was fine, until I used a little centered photo as wallpaper, so I could use a simple blue square bitmap for the sysmetrix skin, which was the same colour as my windows background. However that is cheating.
Still, if you mail me tomorrow, you can have that skin. (It has a Windows Longhorn analog clock on its top

Nice job rrunner. I´m currently using Rainmeter for the very same reason. I wish I could combine the 2 (Rainmeter and Sysmetrix), that would be pure bliss. By the way, I think the other system stats program you are referring to in your description above may be Cool Mon. You can get it here: [LINK] :-)

dragonmage: actually there´s one thing in rainmeter´s transparency setiings which is a lot better than sysmetrix: In rainmeter, you define transparency one by one for each element. So the background can be "very transparent", while the characters are fully readable. In sysmetrix you set a system-wide transparency, which makes the text also pale.
