how can i change a bootskin?

I'm new in this. I download a bootskin, but it get a anyway.bootskin. What for I change this: .bootskin ?
And where have I copy this file?

Neo - you are going to have to chk out FORUM oldies ... Wasnt long ago the same question was asked .... Click on the word FORUM and look in HELP... Im sure you will find some answers cuz each OS is different! Cool
