Wide screen sizes

A couple questions... What would be the best WS size for including in my ZIPs?
When you download what size do you use the most for YOUR screen? Cool

It seems that the newer LCD monitors work best when set at the "native" resolution stated for that particular model. My Samsung calls for 1280x1024, while my newer 22inch calls for 1680x1050. I would definately like to see more input here as I am at a loss as to what sizes are popular anymore. 1280x720 is a new one for me!

Never too busy for a good topic. I have a 15.4" laptop and its default wide screen resolution is 1280x800 That 1680x1050 is right on the money with a larger, 22 inch monitor. I am not sure about sizes in between but i believe they should be 16x9 dimensions. Hope that helps. Beer Happy

A Skinbase poll about it will appear in some minutes Wink
we all need some answers about wide screen resolutions.

Though, no doubt about which resolutions are most popular:

No 1 = 1024x768
No 2 = 1280x1024
No 3 = 1600x1200

I agree with adni.
1-1024x768
2-1280x1024
3-1600x1200
4-1680x1050 for widescreen

It´s getting harder to make all the sizes out there. Some of these screen sizes need to go the way of betamax. (even tho beta max was better}
The availability of inexpensive LCD monitors has made the 5:4 aspect ratio resolution of 1280×1024 more popular for desktop usage. Many computer users including CAD users, graphic artists and video game players run their computers at 1600×1200 resolution (UXGA, Ultra-eXtended) or higher if they have the necessary equipment. Other recently available resolutions include oversize aspects like 1400×1050 SXGA+ and wide aspects like 1280×720 WXGA, 1680×1050 WSXGA+, and 1920×1200 WUXGA. The most common computer display resolutions are as follows[3]:

Resolution % of Internet Users
Higher than 1024×768 38%
1024×768 48%
800×600 8%
Lower than 800×600 < 1%
Unknown 6%

Although I see the shift to 1280x1024 being the base. 1600x1200 for the majority and 1680x1050 for widescreen. But with prices dropping for larger monitors even 1280 will become a thing of the past real quick!

Yea I forgot to put in the 1440 x 900 sorry! I´ve seen alot of those monitors, but I still believe a smidge wider is the direction. Any way we´ve only found out we´re stuck on what should be the norm, narrowing it down will come with time! Magician
