Thanks, mickeblue! Sorry about the jaggy mess -- just couldn´t figure a way to get rid of the problem.

Try this. Open your image in PS and duplicate the layer then use the blur tool set to about 25-30% opacity to smooth around the edges and soften the jaggy render effect. Then merge the layer down.
It´s something I picked up in a Terragen tutorial. :-)
