The Other Side

This is the other side of the citadel up on Machu Piccu, the one you don't get to see in the post cards as it puts the mountain ( Machu Piccu is actually the peak behind the buildings ~ no one really knows what the place was called back in the sixteenth century ) at a less dramatic angle.

Personally I was more impressed by this side of the construction as it shows the amount of work that went into the terracing, and how it creates a buttress for the mass of buildings higher up. The other side is actually in danger of slipping down the mountain and is now under continual monitoring.
