The problem with the "random order comments" has been corrected, as I said above Fred.

We will fix what you have mention Brett, though the new SB is very fast , unless some periods of time that we are working with the code and the issue of overloaded Server which we are trying to fix too. Wink

Thanks admi18. Looks like you are right on the speed issue in the last 30 secs the site has started running faster. Must have been bad luck on my part.

Thanks for getting back so quick.
Brett. Happy

Well, as of the time I wrote my above statement, when I spoke of the comments being placed all over, I did not refer to the comments within a particular work. Perhaps that was the understanding. I saw that was happening for a while too. The feature I refer to and use all the time is the "latest comments" on the left of the main page. I like reading what is said about works, additionally - it may give me a look at a work posted that I missed. Last night, I posted 3-5 comments, and when I checked "latest comments, they were not there. This morning I did this same thing, and they are posted - while two of the same (not from me) remain above. So, its certainly better now...

The speed of the site - I have to say I notice no marked improvements (overall)at all. It has its strong moments, then it is painfully slow. The points you spoke to Brett´s concerns probably are valid, and I am sure its being worked on.

Thank you!

Quote Fred ´definitely going in out of order. I noticed this actually for some time now, even during the ending days of the old version.´
They always did for me anyway... I just got used to having to delve for the more recent comments Cool

What I have found ( Twice today ) is that the image files aren´t loading... I just get an image indicator in the upper left... could be my ISP, they sometimes go into OMG mode just before the weekend, or it could be whilst work is being done on the new layout (??? )

Skinbase wasn´t fast as it should, because of around 20.000 records in Basehead poll comments about sex, porn, drugs ....
We are solving this problem now Happy I am sure that you will see soon the most fast site in the skinning community Wink

Fred and Mick The order of the "Latest Comments" should be correct now.

Bruno , Gregor and me we also use FireFox with no problem, I guess it was a temp problem for you Happy

I like the new skinbase, it is much clearer arranged now without losing it´s characteristic friendly-slightly-chaotic look Congratulation

It works very well with most systems but I got big problems on my win98/firefox system. You see only a white background with all pics on the left side. Anyone else experienced that?

Another thing is: Where are the ratings? I didn´t find them in skin ststistics or somewhere else, though the numbers of rates are showed. Are You planning to omit them completely in future?

Hi
Thought i´d chuck in my twopennyworth. I find the home page slow to load. Far slower than it used to be. But once in it shunts along nicely (8meg broadband). It is always slower in little old europe anyway once our freinds across the pond come online about 14:00 GMT I´m having no known issues with running Firefox. I´m using version 2.0.0.4. Everything downloads/uploads as it should except when i do download it is a php file ext. instead of a jpeg/bmp file. But i just rename the ext.to jpg and everythings ok.
Small qualm is on the received comments page. Time received is very faint and blurred and icons are slightly blurred.Apart from that spot on guys. clap

ALAS and Alfa30,
Are you still seeing only white background? Control-F5 may help you.
We are using FireFox too with no problem at all.

ALAS, the ratting system has been changed, it is now "Give us your opinion" with 4 choices and the results are bellow the 4 new small icons.

Skinbase is maybe the faster site in the skinning community now , though, some minutes, because we are still under construction we may have very slow speeds, but the normal speeds are 1 sec to load the page!!! Running

yep, ctr/F5 worked! So it was the old stuff in the cache...

nevertheless this site is by far the MOST challenging one for my old PC with ISDN! Before the new skinbase I actually sometimes had to reboot my system cause that was too much for it , no joke! But I must say it became much better/faster with the new skinbase. And mybe if everything is finished, I won´t even realize how fast it loads, cause I´m so used to making and drinking an espresso, washing my hair, feeding the cats, cleaning the rooms after pressing "skinbase.org" :p Nevertheless, isn´t it possible to at least turn off those masses of smiley and curser-advertisement nobody really needs? It sucks! Forget it, I´ll try to find out myself, of course you can´t give me am instruction here how to get rid of your sponsors

:p

adni, think you mean the 4 icons (nice attempt to feature this work). Seems they are not active, at least I couldn´t rate with them. "Give us your opinion" I didn´t find anywhere... Sad
