The question has most likely been answered in one of the multitude of threads in the PHPmanager forum
Poke around a bit and you´ll surely find it

With your ftp prog:
Create a folder: newman
Upload all the files in this folder
chmod db.inc 666 with your ftp prog

More about chmod see your host info page.
If it is a WinNT server you have to give permission to the folder.

Now run install.php
Fill in the names you have got of your host.
If you have lycos there is no pasword needed.
Now: submit

Webmagazine is just ONE page.
Only the content part changes.
The title is in the head.php

You want a title in the browser window?
Well, then add title to the table news.
And of course add title to Add News.
Then you have to go in the code to make some changes, so the $title will show up.

This is not a simple thing to do.

A sample?
Past the code?

There is a lot of code.
Past the code here will destroy the real code, because this messageboard does not accept all the code in a message.

If you understand PHP and SQL very well, it will take four hours to do what you want.
If you´r a newbie ín PHP and SQL it will take four weeks.

All the code is already in Newman and Webmagazine.
You have to find out how all the code is working together.
Then you can rewrite the code or add a new item or option.

If you have Apache PHP and SQL on your computer you can play around with the code.
If you have not, open a account at lycos to make it a test site.
So do not make changes in your original on-line site.

You have to make the changes in NEWMAN and SQL.
Then in WEBMAGAZINE to see the changes.

You need a PHP editor like ConText.
And if you make changes COUNT.
Count the { and }, they have to be paired, if not it will not work.
Php code is not html .
A wrong html code will still show up in a browser.

I have a serious problem. I downloaded newman and uploaded to the server. When I call install.php and enter the database name and other information needed and click submit, the page just refreshes and the same page is shown with all the information I entered gone.
